Prayer

Prayer is central to our church life and all we do. Whenever we gather together we pray. On a Sunday prayer is an important part of our meeting, both from the front and more informally. Every week members of our Prayer Ministry Team are available after services for those who would like someone to give thanks or pray with them for a particular need.

Many of our church members come regularly to our monthly whole church prayer meeting, to pray for the work of our church and for our world. This starts with a meal and then moves to prayer.

Every lunch time we have a prayer meeting at St Mary’s when we pray particularly for our town and our weekly Bible Reading and Prayer Points leaflet links the whole church family together by highlighting topics and giving a sense of togetherness in prayer.

A team of Intercessors also pray daily for the ministry of the church and any prayer points members of the church family may have. In addition there are a number of groups which meet to pray for specific needs, for example Prayer for Teachers, Prayer for outreach in the Town Centre, Prayer for Persecuted Christians etc.

“… in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God …” (Philippians 3v6)
